Acute Medicine before specialising in Medicine for Older People with a latter
emphasis on Rehabilitation. She has many years experience of practice in both
Acute and Community hospital settings and in the wide variety of Community
facilities that exist for Care of Older People and Rehabilitation of All Ages.
The emphasis of Dr Jo's practice is on maintaining, or
returning to, the maximum Quality of Life that an individual can reasonably
attain. To this end the focus is not purely on clinical medicine, but rather to
maintain or regain independence and health with a common-sense approach to
nutrition, preventative medicine and daily activities.
Throughout her career Dr Jo has worked with, and lead
teams of, clinicians, nurses, dieticians and therapists in a multi-disciplinary
approach to healthcare for the individual.
